The Gospel That Saves
"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures."

Throughout the Bible we find many gospels or messages of "good news." The first gospel was given to Adam and Eve in the promise of One who would crush the "serpent's head" (Genesis 3:15). The Gospel of the Grace of God is the good news promised by God for all people today. This Gospel enables one to be justified before God and provides a means to eternally secure their position with Him in heaven.
God's inspired and preserved word teaches that all men have sinned and are therefore worthy of judgment. This sobering reality demands the utmost desire to be made right with God. As it turns out, there is no way for man to be justified in and of himself. But God has graciously stepped into history as a man named Jesus Christ. He lived a sinless life of righteousness and was crucified and condemned as an innocent man. He allowed this so that He may suffer and bare the guilt of our sins in His body. By His death and the shedding of His blood, we may be justified before God.
When we put our faith in Jesus, God who was manifest in the flesh, we can be assured that, by the saving power of His blood, we are made righteous in Him. Since our salvation is dependent on what He has done, we can do nothing to add to or take away from His promise. If we believe in who Jesus is and what He has done for us on the cross of Calvary, we can be assured that we will be with God in heaven forever!
This Gospel of Grace is freely available even to the vilest sinner because God has ruled us all condemned in sin that He may save us all through Christ. Of course many obstacles lie before us which may hinder our complete trust in Him, not the least of which is pride. To come to God in faith, we must believe He exists, we must humble ourselves, and we must be honest and sincere in seeking Him. God does not expect a leap of blind-faith, despite what you may have heard, but He wants you to KNOW who He is and that He is a rewarder of those who dilegently seek Him!
